DayCare Essentials

Before we give your dog a memorable experience at our daycare, there are a few requirements, such as:

  • Vaccinations: Make sure your dog’s Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, and Bordetella vaccinations are updated. Please send over the information before your pet’s daycare admission.
  • Behavioral Rules: We enforce a 3-strike rule for behavioral issues.
  • Spaying/Neutering: Pets over seven months old must be neutered or spayed.
  • Flea Prevention: Pets should be updated on flea and tick prevention, but note that flea collars are at your own risk. Our facility removes all pet collars before entering crates, and we are not liable for any flea collar damage. If our staff finds fleas in your dog, they will be bathed at your expense.
  • Mealtimes: Feel free to bring meals labeled with their name for your pet for no extra cost.
  • Rest Rotations: All pets follow a mandatory rest rotation.

With these measures, our dog daycare services in St. Louis, MO ensure a joyous and safe environment for your pet.

Common Injuries

While rare, minor doggie mishaps, such as scratches, bites, and sometimes occasional punctures may happen during play there may even be days that your fur baby is feeling under the weather and not feeling like them selfs. Dose not mean you need to leave work to pickup  your fur baby we  will keep you informed all day to let you know how they are doing.  Our team is careful to break up play before it becomes too rough.  However, we do have a first aid kit on-hand if needed. We report all incidents to the owners before they go home, no matter how minor

Benefits of Your Dog attending DayCare

Regular playtime with other dogs offers an array of benefits, highlighting the importance of consistent social interaction for our canine friends:

  • Enhanced Comfort with Dogs and People: Routine social engagements help dogs become more at ease around other dogs and people, fostering an environment of comfort and reducing anxiety.
  • Physical Health and Fitness: The Association for Pet Obesity Prevention states that over 50% of dogs are obese, making physical fitness through regular play important. Playing helps dogs learn positive behaviors that curb home mischief and maintain a healthy weight.
  • Finding a Best Furry Friend Forever (BFFF): Social activities provide opportunities for dogs to meet their BFFF, enhancing their social life and overall happiness.
  • Crucial Socialization: Safe socialization is essential to ensure your dogs grow into well-rounded canine citizens. Unlike unpredictable settings like dog parks, dog daycare environments offer a controlled space for this development. At Y Bark Alone, each dog is pre-screened and evaluated before being approved for open play, with playrooms assigned based on size and temperament to foster a safe and friendly environment.
  • Strict Cleaning Protocols: Recognizing that dogs, like children, can get sick, there’s a strict cleaning protocol to minimize the spread of illnesses, ensuring a healthy environment for all.
  • Exercise and Health Benefits: Consistent exercise is vital for a dog’s physical growth and happiness, contributing to the prevention of obesity-related health issues, such as osteoarthritis, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and more. With eight to ten hours of off-leash open play, Y Bark Alone ensures dogs get ample exercise to maintain a healthy weight and strong heart health and promote a good night’s sleep.

Understanding Dog Play

While dog play, which includes running, chasing, neck grabbing, and more, may seem rough to pet parents, it’s typical and healthy dog behavior. A skilled daycare attendant monitors this play closely to ensure safety and intervene if a dog becomes scared or overwhelmed. Regular interaction, supervised play, and its social and physical benefits are crucial components of a pet’s life, ensuring they grow up healthy, happy, and well-adjusted.
